It's Fair Season!

August 10, 2008 - The month of August in Minnesota can only mean one thing: It's county fair time. County fairs bring suburban and rural life together for countywide celebrations that kids of all ages enjoy. Throughout the weekend, I visited three county fairs in Minnesota's 2nd district – the Dakota County Fair in Farmington, the Carver County Fair in Waconia, and the Goodhue County Fair in Zumbrota. At all three fairs, I enjoyed visiting with so many folks from around the district, hearing their thoughts and listening to their concerns. I also stopped by the Republican booths at the fairs to visit with and thank the volunteers who are so instrumental to our grassroots efforts.

In addition to the fairs, I also participated in the 22nd annual Lonsdale Community Days, where I was joined by nearly 40 volunteers in the Grande Day Parade. I would like to congratulate the entire community of Lonsdale for a job well done on their festival.
