August 21, 2008
Burnsville – The Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis are the latest organizations to give their backing to Congressman John Kline’s re-election campaign for his congressional leadership and support for law enforcement officials and emergency responders.
“We are proud to give Congressman Kline our full support because of what he continues to do for public safety in the state of Minnesota and across the country," said John Delmonico, President of the Officers Federation of Minneapolis. "Congressman Kline listens to our concerns, learns about our issues, and advocates on our behalf. He is a true friend of the law enforcement community and all Minnesotans.”
Congressman Kline has consistently supported increased funding for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program, which is used for law enforcement programs, prosecution and court programs, crime prevention and education programs, drug treatment programs, and crime victim and witness programs. He has also been a supporter of CriMNet and the Meth Hot Spot Initiative.
“Members of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and the Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis are devoted to keeping our communities safe and secure, and I am honored to have earned their endorsements,” Congressman Kline said. “I am pleased to have these important public safety federations as allies in our collective effort to protect all Minnesotans.”
