John Kline Receives Tax Fighter Award For Being a “Major Asset” to Taxpayers
NTLC: John Kline Has Had the Courage to Challenge the Orthodoxy of Washington Spending and Earmarks
Burnsville – John Kline received an “A” grade from the National Tax Limitation Committee’s (NTLC) Congressional scorecard for his fiscally sound voting record in the 110th Congress. The top grade earns him the “Tax Fighter Award.”
"Congressman Kline has led the battle on behalf of taxpayers to make the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts permanent; eliminate the death tax; kill the Alternative Minimum Tax; eliminate the 1993 tax increase on Social Security earnings; provide incentives for private savings, investment, and job creation; and control the growth of federal spending,” said NTLC President Lewis K. Uhler. “Congressman Kline has been a major asset to taxpayers across America during his Congressional service. He has had the courage to challenge the orthodoxy of Washington spending and earmarks.”
John Kline came to Congress with a commitment to comprehensive reform of our tax system that would put more money back into the pockets of taxpayers. Keeping taxes low allows families to build a better life for themselves and their children, enables businesses – large and small – to create jobs and compete in the global marketplace, and provides an environment in which innovation can flourish.
“I will continue my fight for economic security by ending wasteful pork-barrel spending and helping Minnesotans keep more of their hard-earned tax dollars – as well as pursuing pro-growth policies such as expanding American energy to lower costs for families and strengthening retirement security,” said John Kline.
